Urban Christian Fiction is a genre of emotional,
vivid and conflicting stories that mixes God, faith and the urban church.
It does not purposely exclude violence or sex from its story line,
but weaves it into the plot based upon its relevance.
It closely resembles Urban Fiction or Street Lit except, God is the center of the character’s lives.
Urban Christian Fiction usually portrays characters of African or Latino descent depicting urban culture.
Her writing was put on hold while she attended Howard University as an undergraduate, then medical school at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. The writing bug bit again a few years ago and pencil, crayon, and construction paper were replaced by laptop and printer.
In January 2000, Maurice Gray formed Write The Vision, Inc. through which he published his first novel To Whom Much Is Given (released in October 2000). The sequel, All Things Work Together came out in July of 2006. Maurice is also a contributor to the Blessed Assurance anthology along with S. James Guitard, Patricia Haley, Terrance Johnson, Victoria Christopher Murray and Jacquelin Thomas. Blessed Assurance originally released in June 2003, and was recently selected as a featured alternate selection by the Black Expressions book club.
Write The Vision, Inc. has also published works by other authors. The first release was I Really Didn’t Mean To Get HIV (co-authored with AIDS survivor Livingston Lee) in September 2001, and the second was Ocean View by Fred Gaines in September 2002.
Maurice currently serves on the faculties of the Sandy Cove and the Greater Philadelphia Christian Writers Conferences, where he evaluates manuscripts for conferees and teaches workshops. In August 2007, he taught a workshop on the first annual Cruisin For Christ cruise. Along with Lacricia A'ngelle, Dr. Linda Beed, Kimberly Brooks, Wanda Campbell and Jacquelin Thomas, he is a member of the Damascus Road Authors.
Kick off your shoes and stay awhile.

Sherri Lewis authored her first book at the age of six. Her family considered her pencil and crayon on brightly colored construction paper creation a masterpiece. She continued to enjoy writing short stories and poems throughout her young adult life.

An avid reader of mystery novels since childhood, I answered the call to write my own after serving as a Systems Administrator for a division of the Social Security Administration for several years.
A resident of the Atlanta, Georgia area, I born and raised in the Baltimore-Washington metropolitan areas. Through God’s grace and inspiration, I intend to pen books that will engage the reader(s).
With that said, may my writings provoke you to laughter, keep you in suspense and feed your spirit.
